Most Ven Prof Brahamapundi supports Vietnam to host UN Day of Vesak 2019

On July 25th, a delegation of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), led by Most Ven Thich Thanh Nhieu, Permanent Vice President of the VBS Executive Council, arrived to Thailand in exchange for hosting UN Day of Vesak 2019.

Speaking at the meeting, Most Ven Thich Thanh Nhieu congratulated Thailand upon their success with the recent UN Day of Vesak 2018, as well as sharing the desire for approval from Most Ven Prof Brahamapundi to host the 16th UN Day of Vesak 2019 in Viet Nam.

Most Ven Prof Brahamapundi has mentioned the impressions he had for the two UN Day of Vesak that Vietnam has hosted (Ha Noi, 2008 and Ninh Binh, 2014), at the same time expressed support for Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to host the upcoming UN Day of Vesak in 2019.

After the meeting with ICDV in 9/2018, Most Ven. Brahamapundi will appoint an association in ICVN to Vietnam, to assist and support for organizing the event under the most favourable conditions.

Also at the meeting, Buddhist leaders of the two countries have exchanged several issues addressing to stabilize, consolidate and uphold the friendly relations, close corporations in support and exchange educational fields, cultural exchange, religious, contribute in strengthening the friendly interrelations and peace between the two countries in Buddhist spirit.
